Deutsche Bank offers customers crypto ETPs
The German direct bank Comdirect AG is now offering 11 exchange-traded cryptocurrency products (ETPs) from 21shares AG. The bank offers online brokerage, banking and advisory services in Germany.
21shares announced that its exclusive partnership with Comdirect took effect on Tuesday:
In this innovative partnership, 21shares was the only provider of physically stored crypto ETPs to be included in the online broker’s savings plan program (Spar-Plan).
The eleven ETPs are currently listed in Germany and are now available without commission on the Comdirect platform, the announcement continues. The ETPs offer investments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, Polkadot, Stellar, Cardano, Solana and more.
Hany Rashwan, CEO of 21shares, stated that his company was “the first crypto issuer to list a fully secured, 100% physically secured Bitcoin ETP on most German exchanges in 2019”. In addition, it is currently “the only issuer that allows four crypto ETPs on Xetra alone”. In 2018, the company again “listed the world’s first physically secured crypto ETP on the SIX Swiss Exchange,” he said, explaining:
We are very pleased to offer German customers who want to add Bitcoin and other crypto assets to their savings plan, thanks to Comdirect, a convincing opportunity that was previously not available for any crypto products.
The product manager and initiator of the Comdirect crypto savings plan, Rene Louis Delrieux, noted that via Comdirect “Investors can now use crypto ETPs from 21shares that meet the needs of our discerning customers and ensure market participation. This additional service increases the flexibility for immediate use. “She said:
Together with our partner 21shares, Comdirect has succeeded in significantly bridging crypto investments into old-age provision, which our customers have longed for.
