Actor Hina Khan shared the trailer for her upcoming cross-border drama Lines on Saturday, in which Farida Jalal and Rishi Bhutani also play a central role. The less than a minute trailer shows how the conflict between India and Pakistan has separated families and made it harder for love to blossom.
Lines follows the character of Hina, a cashmere girl who wants to unite her grandmother with her sister on the other side of the border. And just when the two sisters reunite, things take a turn for the worse for the Kargil War between the two countries in the summer of 1999. Hina’s character says in the trailer that she wished she would wake up one day and there would be no lines between them. India and Pakistan.
“Unfiltered emotions and a very powerful story! I can’t wait for you all to watch LINES. Premiering July 29 on @vootselect,” Hina Khan captioned the trailer. Lines is part of the Voot Select Film Festival, which kicks off July 24.
On Friday, sharing the Lines poster, Hina wrote: “I’m presenting LINES, a film and artwork very close to my heart at @vootselect on July 29. So honored that the film is part of the Voot select film festival and just like the poster launch of the film (in Cannes) LINES is released in India with the lineup of some amazing films with amazing actors and directors. I couldn’t have wished for a better platform!”
Lines is directed by Hussain Khan and written by Kunwar Shakti Singh and Rahat Kazmi.
