Mahesh Babu vaccinates his native village against Covid-19

Namrata Shirodkar took to social media on Wednesday to inform fans that her husband and Telugu actor Mahesh Babu’s 7-day Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the village of Burripalem in Andhra Pradesh ended successfully on Wednesday.

“Successfully completed the 7-day vaccination drive in Burripalem!! Couldn’t be happier that our village has been vaccinated Thank you @urstrulymahesh, forever rock solid, @andhrahospitals @mbofficialteam for your unwavering support and most of all a big thank you to all our villagers who came forward to take it! (sic),” Namrata wrote on her Instagram account.

She also urged everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Burripalem is also the home village of Mahesh Babu, whom he had adopted in 2015 after the release of his film Srimanthudu. The star had promised to carry out development work in the village through his charity. From building new classrooms to running health camps, his charity has since run a variety of development activities.

As part of his ongoing philanthropy in the village, Mahesh had launched the vaccination campaign there on May 31, coinciding with his father Krishna’s birthday. “Vaccination is our ray of hope for a return to normal life! Doing my part to make sure everyone in Burripalem is vaccinated and safe. Very grateful to #AndhraHospitals for helping to arrange this vaccination campaign (sic),” the star had previously tweeted.

On the work front, Mahesh Babu will then start shooting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which is being directed by Parasuram. If all goes according to plan, the filmmakers expect to release the film in January 2022.
