The charges are reportedly linked to an arrest in September 2020 for possession of a firearm. YoungBoy was initially granted a loan but was later revoked after the government filed a motion. On Monday, NBA YoungBoy lawyers filed a motion for the rapper’s release, who is due to reappear in court in August, ”noted TSR.

TSR also said NBA YoungBoy attorneys revealed in court documents they received that the rapper and his legal team were “blind” from the March arrest.

They claim that “they were not contacted about a voluntary surrender and that the motivation behind the ban was to damage the NBA YoungBoy brand.”
